MD Connect at the Google Engage All-Star Conference

Last week, Google flew out about 80 agencies from all over the world to participate in their Google Engage All-Stars Conference. MD Connect was one of the agencies selected for this prestigious honor and we had VP of Marketing Ben Joslin and Senior Marketing Manager Zach Burt in attendence. Both came back with nothing but great things to say about the facilities, the service and the "mountain views". MD Connect was one of the only (if not the only) healthcare focused agency to be represented at this event.

Some of the interesting statistics Ben and Zach learned while being spoiled by Google were:

  • 50% of all purchase journeys take 19 days (buyers' market)
  • 88% of all Ad Words clicks are incremental to organic
  • Globally, only 2% have implemented local bid adjustments
  • 20-50% of clicks are now mobile - predicted as high as 80% (Better make sure your website is mobile friendly!)
  • Google Analytics = 75,000 data points tracked (that's a lot of data!)
  • Google averages $20M in revenue per employee as compared to $1.6M for LinkedIn (all fairness, LinkedIn only went public a year ago)

It was a great event to be a part of and both Ben and Zach were able to discuss the intricacies of Search Engine Marketing with some of the top marketing minds and agencies globally. With agencies represented from Austrailia, Europe, South America and North America, MD Connect was certainly in great company.

PS Don't tell Google we stole one of their bikes! (I'm kidding, it wouldn't fit on the plane!)
